"Clip Art" is a song that's been years in the making. The main riff is more than a few years old and stems from a guitar exercise I used to do. I actually used to play this song live when I was living in LA and playing acoustic shows, but the song took on a whole new life when I added bass and drums to it. Scott Zschomler laid down some killer keys over the track, and my good friend Adam Walter completely blew the whole thing out of the water with his layered saxophone parts. The icing on the cake is the vocal part, sung by Patrick Killeen. Pat and I, along with Scott Zschomler, play together in a band called Shoos Off. I joined the band about a year ago after Shoos Off had already released a couple of albums. Pat used to hang out at Beehive Studios while recording vocals for Shoos Off, and when I heard his voice, I knew he would fit perfectly with "Clip Art". In fact, Pat is the one responsible for the naming the song. "Clip Art" is funky, sassy, and has a percussive groove.
