This track, like all tracks on this album, was performed live with my Boss RC-50 loop station. The RC-50 was one of the first loop stations to go to market, and it's no longer manufactured. There are no backing tracks, nothing is pre-recorded, all loops are created live in real-time, all instruments and vocals are performed by me (Gabriel Soriano), and all lyrics and music are written by me as well.

Slow rot, so sought through twig and flame
And poisoned lips to twist the pain
A sinking breath, a sweaty rain, inside a cracked and messy frame...

When once the sun was swift to shine
And faded stars remained to bleed
The light o'er space and time
A shrine to ghosts lost to the sea
A blooming heart amidst the black
A photograph that no one sees
Twixt faith and blood and artifacts
Our steps have forged the mystery

And drown, we will, inside the night
And breathe again when it retreats
For dawn is just another sight
Our days a pattern to repeat

And in my tears my verses lie in wait
To drink the sun and all it's light
And fall from out my open mouth to greet your flesh with open eyes
But every moment lived inside the past is just another passing night
The embers burned and blackened now
The empty shores the ocean dry...

And with the dawn comes old regrets
Sucking blood from out my life
And leaving me a splintered shell, frayed & fraught with fear & spite
Stand alone along that shore, the crashing waves are taking flight
As summer fades into the dusk, a sinking ship collects my sight
While weathered skin and barren bones
Are echoed in the whispered rite, for in that ancient melody
The specters poised, set to strike

The caverns carved from out my soul
The hollow filled, the embers bright
Awake my dear, awake my dear from sullen sleep
Then breathe me in and save my life...
