Them crooked crows chirping something wicked They wouldn't let me back in since coz I couldn't find the ticket Now I'm crawling on the ground with all the other crickets I think you got a broken bone, know a man that can fix it... She's a keeper... Scoping out the kill while I'm soaking up the sun Baby you can hide while ya put your rhythm on the run Now we're shedding our skin like a beat old drum I think you should be aware of my condition She's a keeper...

Backwood buckshot bitch on a butch kick-back Belly full of bourbon and a salt lick My wounds bittersweet honey pot Break me off a piece of that riffraff Rough house, need a ride home? Got a hatch back To the bottom of a big black sea... At the bottom of a big black sea, that's where she left the last piece of me... I call bullshit! Bellowing the blues Pickin' through my pockets for the penny in my shoes Off with my head, never had much use for the damn thing anyways Back to the top 'til we tumble to the drop Dead of a broken heart, never saw it coming Close to the end, then we turn around again Never quite getting where we're going to... Never quite getting where we're going to... Cheap skate beat skate meatloaf double beat loaf I hate meatloaf!

Slow rot, so sought through twig and flame And poisoned lips to twist the pain A sinking breath, a sweaty rain, inside a cracked and messy frame... When once the sun was swift to shine And faded stars remained to bleed The light o'er space and time A shrine to ghosts lost to the sea A blooming heart amidst the black A photograph that no one sees Twixt faith and blood and artifacts Our steps have forged the mystery And drown, we will, inside the night And breathe again when it retreats For dawn is just another sight Our days a pattern to repeat And in my tears my verses lie in wait To drink the sun and all it's light And fall from out my open mouth to greet your flesh with open eyes But every moment lived inside the past is just another passing night The embers burned and blackened now The empty shores the ocean dry... And with the dawn comes old regrets Sucking blood from out my life And leaving me a splintered shell, frayed & fraught with fear & spite Stand alone along that shore, the crashing waves are taking flight As summer fades into the dusk, a sinking ship collects my sight While weathered skin and barren bones Are echoed in the whispered rite, for in that ancient melody The specters poised, set to strike The caverns carved from out my soul The hollow filled, the embers bright Awake my dear, awake my dear from sullen sleep Then breathe me in and save my life...

I used to know you, you used to know me We used to know each other I used to call you, you used to call me Now we don't call each other You're just a stranger, I'm just a broken boy I can't replace ya... You're just a memory, still stuck inside of me I can't escape ya... 'Cause every time I close my eyes, I see your face I couldn't hideaway, hideaway... And every time you speak my name, I feel at peace Like I can find my way, find my way... I used to see you, you used to see me We used to see each other I used to feel you, you used to feel me We used to feel each other I bet you're just as beautiful as the day we met Rest assured, I'll stay this miserable 'til we meet again 'Cause every time I close my eyes, I see your face I couldn't hideaway, hideaway... And every time you speak my name, I feel at peace Like I can find my way, find my way... And every time I close my eyes, I see your face I couldn't hideaway, hideaway... And every time you speak my name, I feel at peace Like I can find my way, find my way...

I got a new prescription to cure an old addiction Swallowed them fuckers whole and fell asleep Pray-tell, what are you whispering? I'm the only one who's listening The fragments of an empire sinking deep... Honestly, I'm broken, the void inside me's woken To empty space and hollow misery And now, I stand in silence Hell, everyone should try this And then we'd all know what it's like to bleed A specter in the distance, the jukebox on the fritz Stuck playing that old record through and through And this used to be our song babe... It's been such a long day, say, I could use a drink How 'bout you? And I'll sleep on the sofa, I won't come any closer I'll even let you smoke my last cigar And as the embers soften, we'll think of all we've lost And we'll pray to wake up better than we are I'm waiting on your answer in the company of a dancer Who swears she put her two-weeks in today Saved up all her money, movin' some place sunny Where not a single soul will know her name...

Everything ends, even you, even me...

about

"Loophole Senior" is an album comprised of 12 songs that were performed/looped live at Beehive Studios in Costa Mesa, CA, throughout 2016. I recorded one song per month, both on video and audio, and posted the videos to YouTube. After a couple of years deciding whether or not to release the songs in album form, I figured "What the hell?" and put 'em all together here for free download. All tracks were written and performed by me, all instruments played by me, and all songs were looped live in real-time without any sort of backing tracks or digital layering/manipulation. Thanks for listening!
